Student Activities Board keeps campus busy on a budget
The Student Activities Board provides students with many opportunities to step away from the classroom and interact in both on campus and off campus activities.
Kaitlyn Kozdron, secretary for the Student Activity Board, shared that a benefit of being a member of SAB is that she is able to be in a leadership role that benefits students on campus.
Kozdron has been a part of SAB for over a year and is involved with planning spring fling, bingo, and many other events.
Recently the club held a snow tubing trip to Blue Mountain Ski Resort. The trip cost only $5 and was held Friday, January 31 from 3 to 10 p.m.
Maggie Classen, sophomore nursing student, shares that she enjoys attending SAB events because they make the trips affordable. Classen has been involved with many events held by SAB. This was Maggie’s second time attending the Blue Mountain snow tubing trip.
“I had the opportunity to meet new people and make closer friendships with people who I do not see on a day to day basis,” Classen said.
Classen also stated that the SAB is well organized and provides safe transportation. During the trip, students were able to go tubing or relax inside the lodge. Angel Bent, sophomore nursing student, also attended the snow tubing trip for her second year in a row.
“I enjoy attending trips through SAB because they seem to host more events than any of the other clubs,” Bent says.
When creating these events, club members discuss what will be in the best interest of the students on campus. Kozdron shares that students should look forward to some of their upcoming events: New York City trip, Phantoms Hockey Game, and Nickelodeon Universe. Most of the trips are inexpensive and students can look forward to many other free events coming up at the college.
If you are a student on a budget, the Student Activities Board will not let you down. Prepare to have fun, make new memories, and save money while doing so.
