Snow safety and you

Winter is a wonderland. Snowball fights, sledding. Snow angels and getting stuck on the side of the road. By now, you have realized that one of these things is not like the others. Here are some tips to keep you safe from the snow.

1. Keep a kit in your car.

Keep a spare jacket, a first aid kit, a flare, and a phone charger in your car at all times. You never know when the weather will turn rotten. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

2. Let people know where you’re going.

A good idea is to always alert someone that you are leaving your location. This way, if you do end up getting stuck, someone will know you actually left in the first place and can ideally come get you.

3. Stay off the road.

If it is already snowing badly, refrain from leaving your location. If you are on campus, see if you can spend the night with someone who dorms.

4. Stock up.

For our commuters out there, make sure you stock up on groceries before a storm hits. Roads will be closed, and you want to be prepared.
