Cedar Crest Swim team announced co-champions of North Eastern Athletic Conference
Cedar Crest College and Wilson College have been named co-champions of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship.
On the third and final day of the competition Cedar Crest was able to get the points they need to finish with 464 points total, pushing them into the top spot. This win broke a 5-year streak held by Cazenovia.
“I am extremely proud of this group of ladies who push through every obstacle that is thrown at them,” Head Coach Kaity Rockwell stated on the swim and dive webpage. “"This past weekend, there were so many personal and seasonal best times from everyone. All of those early morning practices and late-night sessions were worth it in the end. This team always amazes me with everything that they do.”
Abbey Mower was named champion of the first event of the weekend, the 1650-yard freestyle, with a time of 20:55:55. This was also the Falcons only first place title of the weekend.
Zaria Berry, Ally Arabio, and Dominique earned the second, third, and fourth place titles (respectively) in the 100-yard individual medley.
"This group absolutely deserves all the recognition they can get along with our coaches who have been there each step of the way," added Dr. Snook Jr.
