Falcons break even at Fast Pitch Dream Tournament
While many of Cedar Crest’s students got to go home and relax over Spring Break, the softball team travelled to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, to play games all week. The team started off the week strong with two wins on Sunday against Penn College (11-3), and SUNY Poly (11-6).
Monday proved to be a bit of a struggle for the Falcons as they lost both games. They had a rough game against Randolph College, and lost 0-8. Next was a game against LaRouche College, which was a closer game, but still ended in the other teams favor, 6-7.
The softball team got a break from games on Tuesday, which I’m sure they used to relax in the sand, and practice of course! Cedar Crest beat Mary Baldwin University 18-4 Wednesday morning, but fell to Euerka College 1-7 later on in the day.
The week wrapped up on Thursday, filled with close games, keeping the crowds on their toes. The first game that the girls played was against SUNY Poly and the Falcons lost 7-8. The second game was against Medaille College, and the Falcons came out victorious 3-2.
Overall, the Falcons ended the week with 8 wins and 8 losses, which is most definitely a record to be proud of. Hopefully, the season just keeps going upwards. Keep up the hard work, girls!
