Swimming ends up on top at home opener
The Cedar Crest swim team had their home opener on November 11th with competitors Wells College and Gallaudet University. The Falcons opened up the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with a finish of 2:11.54, thanks to freshman Autumn Kidulic, senior Nithya Lakshminarayanan, senior Olivia Lopez, and freshman Tessa Stegura. In the 1000 freestyle, freshman Emily Klenk finished in first place with a time of 13:12.74. Lakshminarayanan also finished the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:16.63, giving her the first place spot.
In the 50 meters backstroke, freshman Emily Badman took second place with a time of 35.66 and freshman Sierra Ressler was in third place with a time of 36.06 seconds. Lopez finished second in the 50 Breaststroke with a time of 41.75 seconds while Marissa Madson finished in fifth with a time of 50.01 seconds. Kidulic had a time of 1:10.68 seconds in the 100 butterfly.
Stegura and Ressler came in second and fourth in the 50 freestyle respectively with the times of 29.43 and 30.88 seconds. Lakshminarayanan brought in first place for the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:02.57. Badmand and Ressler placed second and forth in the 100 backstroke with times 1:17.31 and 1:24.01.
In the 100 Breaststroke, Kidulic placed first with a time of 1:16.68, Madson took fifth at 1:54.94. Stegura and Klenk took the one and two spots finishing the 500 freestyle event at 6:29.20, and 6:34.50. Lopez took second in the 50 Butterfly coming in at 32.27 while in the final individual event Lakshminarayanan took first with a time of 1:11.55 and Badmantook second touching in at 1:22.32 in the 100 IM. Cedar Crest finished the meet on a high note, taking first place in the 200 Freestyle Relay clocking in at 1:58.18 was Kidulic, Lopez, Ressler, and Stegura.
